Terms and Conditions about holiday house (gite)

These general terms and conditions are based on the French laws and regulations concerning chambres d’hôtes. This translation is for information purposes only. Only the French version may be legally binding.

Article 1 – Length of stay

By signing the contract for a fixed period, you cannot under any circumstances claim any right to a longer stay.

Article 2- Ratification of reservation

After receiving your reservation request, we will send you a confirmation by email (reservation contract). We ask you to send a confirmation reply to this contract by email and we ask you to make a down payment within 10 days. This deposit is 25% of the total rental price. The remaining amount and a cautionary deposit of € 200,- must be paid no later than 6 weeks before the start of the rental period. Reservations made 6 weeks or less before the start of the rental period must be paid in total at once.
Your reservation becomes valid upon receipt of the (down)payment. Payment of a deposit implies acceptance of these terms and conditions.

It is important to note that if the deposit is not paid within the specified period, the booking will not be confirmed and we therefore reserve the right to reclaim the gite that has become vacant.

Article 3 – Distance purchase and right of withdrawal

A reservation made online, by telephone and/or by letter is a distance purchase. We must comply with Article L. 121 – 17 e.v. Code de la consommation. We would like to inform you that the right of withdrawal does not apply to the services we provide (prestations de service d’hebergements).

Article 4 – Cancellation by the client

All cancellations must be notified by letter or e-mail sent to the owner.

For cancellations up to 6 weeks before the start of the rental period, 25% of the total rent will be charged.

After expiration of the above-mentioned period, the full rent will be due.

In case of a late arrival and/or early departure during the stay: no refund will be made

Article 5 – Cancellation insurance

We would like to point out that no cancellation insurance is included in our rates. We recommend that you take out travel and/or cancellation insurance.

Article 6 – Cancellation by the owner

If the owner of the accommodation cancels before the beginning of the stay, he must inform his client as soon as possible. The amounts already paid will be immediately refunded to the client.

Article 7 – Time of arrival

Arrival between 16.00 and 18.00 hrs. In case of a different desired arrival time and/or a late arrival due to unforeseen circumstances, please contact us. T: 0033 (0)9 64 39 60 93.

Article 8 – Departure time

The holiday house must be made vacant before 10 a.m.

Article 9 – Payment of the remaining amount of the accommodation

The remaining amount of the rent should be paid no later than 6 weeks before the start of the stay.

Article 10 – Guarantee

Complaints relating to inventory and/or existing damage will be accepted up to 4 hours after your arrival. Complaints can be reported by e-mail.
Our inspection of the holiday home takes place during the final cleaning; then any damage and/or breakages can be ascertained by us.
If everything has been left in good order and no damage or breakages have been found, the deposit will be returned within two weeks. If the damage exceeds the deposit, the tenant is obliged to make the additional payment (within two weeks after notification).

Article 11 – Pets

Pets are not allowed.

Article 12 – Lifestyle, use of the accommodation

Compliance with a certain lifestyle is requested from all guests in order to ensure the tranquillity of the location and the comfort of guests and neighbours. In addition, guests are requested not to smoke throughout the premises. The client agrees to follow the instructions of how to behave at “La Fiancée du Paresseux”, as well as the general terms and conditions of sale.
The client agrees to leave the holiday home in perfect condition at the end of the stay and to declare to accept, and financially bear, any damage for which he is responsible.
The main tenant is liable for damages caused by him/her, by co-tenants, even if found after his/her departure.
The tenant is requested to be insured for damages to third parties such as liability insurance.
Children stay at La Fiancée du Paresseux under the sole responsibility of their parents/carers (including the garden and swimming pool).
The stay at La Fiancée du Paresseux and the use of all facilities such as the swimming pool and parking are at your own risk.
We (owners of La Fiancée du Paresseux) cannot accept any liability and consequently we are indemnified by visitors for matters such as injury to visitors and those accompanying them, from whatever cause; damage, direct or indirect, loss or theft of goods or valuables brought into La Fiancée du Paresseux by a visitor or those accompanying them, including those items taken into receipt by us or deposited, given in safekeeping or left behind in any way and by whomsoever; damage or nuisance caused by or to third parties.

Article 13 – Modifications of terms and conditions

These terms and conditions may be subject to change at any time and without notice. The acceptance of and compliance with these terms and conditions shall be deemed accepted upon payment of the deposit.

Article 14 –

According to the law of 6 January 1978, you have the right to access and rectify data concerning you. “La Paresse en Douce” declares that it will treat this data confidentially and not pass it on to third parties.
